MODIGLIANI UNMASKED | Drawings from The Paul Alexandre Collection and Other Works

Jewish Museum, New York

This is the most important exhibition of Modigliani's pre-1914 drawings to be held in America. And reveals how the artist progressively found his unique artistic voice.

It includes paintings; also sculptures - both by Modigliani and from cultures which inspired and moved him.

The majority of exhibits were acquired from Modigliani by Paul Alexandre, his first patron and are being exhibited in America for the first time. Most have remained in the Alexandre family, many of whose members we advise.

We have arranged the loan of over 120 works and written one of the two essays in the accompanying Yale University Press publication.
